This one litre bottle is a great size for an easy-to-use cleaning solution. I found it best to pour some into a spray bottle to use on surfaces when cleaning. I haven't tried this on electronics as yet, but I will note it advises it takes a bit longer to evaporate upon use so it's best to use when you have a decent wait time available. In any case, you should never rush when cleaning electronics. I have also used this for cleaning computer and phone screens, and I feel confident it's done a great job at removing germs.
Some people may find the large bottle an issue but as I mentioned above, it works beautifully in a spray bottle for most uses. I even use this on my computer screen with a spray.
I buy a fair bit of I
PA at varying concentrations for home and hobby use. This 70% Isopropyl Alcohol I
PA Cleaner came in a well made bottle with no leaks and a sealed, good cap. My primary use for this alcohol will be cleaning and sanitisation. I tried it on some sticky residue on the kitchen bench and it removed it without issue.
When tested against some 100% I have, it did all the usual things 70% should. It doesn't evaporate as quickly, it doesn't haze plastics as badly and it's not as drying on skin.
This is a good bottle of 70% I
PA.
It's made of sturdy plastic, and the lid fastens securely without being frustrating to open and close.
70% I
PA is better at killing bacteria than the stronger stuff. The water slows evaporation so there's more contact time.
But it does contain more water which means it'll streak more if used in cleaning.
It's recommend this bottle for disinfecting and light cleaning. If you want the surface to be _very_ clean, or if you're dealing with very tough grease/oil/adhesive, or if you're dealing with electronics, then use a stronger 90%+ solution.
This is a very practical cleaning solution that does what you expect without fuss. The 70% formula makes it effective for removing marks, residue, and general grime from a wide range of surfaces, including electronics and work areas. It’s easy to use and doesn’t require much effort to get good results.
It dries quickly and doesn’t leave streaks behind, which is especially useful when cleaning screens or smooth finishes. The fast evaporation means you can move on quickly without waiting around. The bottle is also well designed and leak-proof, so you don’t have to worry about spills when storing or using it.
The bottle design
----
The bottle it comes in is a fairly lightweight plastic. The opening is wide so it is very easy/quick to pour out.
How I use it
----
To make it easier to manage, I usually refill a smaller spray bottle that I can carry around in my bag. This is a great workaround for the large opening and makes it much more portable for daily use. I specifically look for the 70% concentration for hygiene tasks because it does not evaporate as quickly as the 99/100% versions. That extra bit of time on the surface is what you want for killing germs properly. I use it mostly for disinfecting my phone screen and case, or for wiping down surfaces when I am out and about.
Value and quality
----
It is a simple, effective product that offers decent value for money given the size of the bottle. Since I am only using it for small electronics and the occasional surface, this one litre bottle lasts a long time. It is a practical choice if you already have your own spray bottles to decant it into, as it saves money compared to buying smaller pre-packaged sprays at the chemist.
TLDR - Effective 70% alcohol that is great for phones and surfaces. The bottle opening is quite wide and easy to pour out to refill a smaller spray bottle.
